Abstract (EN)

The tradition of minstrelsy has an important place in Turkish history. Considering that the geography of the Republic of Turkey is centered in Anatolia, the tradition of minstrelsy is the most prominent of the central cultural elements of this tradition. In this sense, the tradition of minstrelsy is a way of expressing feelings about these lands. Minstrels are people of thought and art who symbolize these feelings. In this context, our study examines Aşık Özlemi, one of the modern-era minstrels. Aşık Özlemi has been a role model for future generations with his lyrics, poems and compositions and has made various contributions to Turkish folk music. In our study, the life of Aşık Özlemi, his influences and works have been discussed, and interviews have been conducted with people who knew him well. As a result, it has been concluded that Aşık Özlemi is one of the modern-era symbols of Anatolian culture.
