Abstract (EN)

After the necessity of using rootstocks in viticulture, many rootstocks with different affinity and adaptation properties were obtained. When establishing a vineyard in a region, either rooted rootstock or grafted rooted seedlings are used. In both cases, it is necessary to use rootstocks obtained according to certain standards (Anonymous 1983, Anonymous 1988, Anonymous 1990, Anonymous 1992 and Steel 1991). Rootstock cuttings show different rooting characteristics according to the rootstock variety (Atilla 1985, Baris 1983, Barlass and Skene1980). In this study, SO4, 5BB, LOT and 8B vine rootstocks obtained from Tekirdağ Viticulture and Research Institute were used in 2017 and this trial was carried out in this institute. The locations of the roots (knuckle and knuckle spacings) of 4 rootstock cuttings were examined separately and their properties were examined in terms of number, length, weight and thickness. The main aim the study is to determine the roots of the cuttings, in which part of the cutting, i.e. the density of which nodes are formed, and to determine the planting depth accordingly. Cuttings collected on 3 March / 2017 were planted in deep sand boxes prepared with between cuttings and between rows distance. In the falling of sheets (15/11/2017), the rooted cuttings were removed from the crates and counted and measured. Since it is accepted that there will be a difference between the roots of different rootstocks in the rootstocks of the same rootstock, no statistical analysis has been made and the results have been explained only by taking into account the total arithmetic mean values of the replications.
