Abstract (EN)

Objective: To determine the nurses' level of knowledge in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and for the purpose of determining the correlation between nurses' knowledge of CPR and demographic characteristics (gender, age, academic achievement, years of experience, training session). Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional was performed at Al-Nasiriyah teaching hospital from November 17, 2021, to April 20, 2022. The sample of 300 nurses included those working in CPR-practicing units such as the ER, ICU, CCU, OR, and medical ward at Al-Nasiriyah teaching hospital in Dhi_qar city. The data was gathered through the use of a questionnaire, which included 7 questions and 39 questions. Structured self-report techniques were used to gather the data. The reliability and validity of the tool were It has been proven in many previous Iraqi studies. Result: According to the study findings, approximately 6.67% of nurses have poor knowledge, 59.33% have moderate knowledge, and 34% have good knowledge. This shows that there is no direct relationship (P > 0.05) between how well nurses know CPR and how they are related to each other, except for (age), (academic achievement), (years of experience), and (current workplace) in which there was a significant correlation (P <0.05) with nurses' knowledge of CPR. Conclusion: In this study, the researchers can conclude that most of the nurse participants had moderate knowledge of CPR. Recommendation: CPR procedural guides should be developed by the referral institutions to include all of the most recent breakthroughs, discoveries, and practices in CPR. If a process manual isn't being followed, corrective action should be taken. Key words: Assessment, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Knowledge ,Nurses
