Abstract (EN)
The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the recycling products of waste tires in terms of their energy potential. In the study, it was attempted to recover the sulfur in the tire content by applying microwave devulcanization to powdered waste car tires, and the energy potential of the product with enhanced qualities was assessed. In another study, pulverized waste tires were subjected to the pyrolysis process in order to assess the energy potential of the materials produced. Sulfur cross-links in the structure can be broken by microwave devulcanization. Also, other products in the chain structure are only slightly affected by this breakdown, and as the entire process occurs over a short period of time, it broadens the options for sulfur recovery methods. In the study, the devulcanization process was carried out by applying different microwave powers in a fixed time. The pyrolysis process was carried out under an inert environment for a certain time at a constant temperature. The energy potentials of the products obtained after these two pre-treatments were investigated by various analysis methods. At the end of the study, the energy potentials of the untreated waste rubber products and the processed products after pyrolysis and microwave devulcanization were analyzed by various methods, and their efficiency was evaluated. At the conclusion of the thesis, the energy potential of the products obtained after the recovery of sulfur from used tires was assessed, and a solution was offered to the tire recycling issue as well as an alternative source for the growing energy demand.
