Abstract (EN)

Concrete and mortar are the most used building materials in the world for many years. Various additives are used to improve the properties of concrete. In this study, the mechanical and physical properties of the mixtures obtained by adding iron powder, which is one of the metal industry wastes, to the mortar mixtures at different rates were optimized. For this purpose, different cement dosages (350,400, 450 and 500 kg/m³), water/cement ratio (0.40, 0.45, 0.50 and 0.60), waste iron powder amount % (0, 25, 50, 100) and fiber content of %( 0, 0.05, 0.15 and 0.20) mortar samples were produced. In order to determine the mechanical and physical properties of the produced mortars; compressive strength, bending tensile strength, ultrasound transmission velocity and water absorption tests were carried out. Optimum parameter levels were determined with the help of the Taguchi method using the experimental data obtained. In addition, the effect of the parameters on the experimental results was determined by analyzing the variance. With the help of the data obtained in our study, the optimum amount of carbon fiber (%0,15) and iron powder (%25) was determined to improve the properties of the mortars by optimizing, and it was concluded that the Taguchi method could be used successfully in such studies.
