Abstract (EN)

Increasing energy demand around the world brings several problems such as environmental pollution and economic crisis. However, in today's world in which the demand for the energy gradually rises, using existing resources efficiently can be considered as a positive step which is taken for solving these issues. Waste heat recovery is one of these efficient usage methods. Waste heat recovery has mainly focused on power generation and thermal energy production, but cooling with the help of waste heat can also be used efficiently with the help of innovative designs. For this purpose, different models have been proposed in which waste heat is used in cooling production and combined power-cooling production applications. Also, in the developed models, novel approaches have been introduced to analyze the ejector. Ejector is used to provide compression effect in the propoesed cycles. When the ejector is used in cooling applications as a single equipment, it can be seen that the efficiency values are lower than the conventional cooling systems, but the systems with ejector can operate with the enviromental friendly fluids, which make them advantageous. To achieve better thermal performance ejectors can be used in combined cycles. According to the obtained results from the developed models, it has been observed that when ejector is used in the cycles in which cooling and power are produced simultaneously these systems can reach a thermal efficiency of 0.42 which is a competitive value.
