Abstract (EN)

In this study, a Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) of 125 mm in diameter and 1.8 m height was used to find out the combustion characteristics of waste water sludge. Sludge cake+lignite coal, sludge cake+biomass and sludge cake+biomass+lignite coal mixtures were burned separately. Various sludge cake/biomass/coal rations are tried. Silica sand and ash were used as bed materials. On-line concentrations of O2, SO2, CO2, CO and NOx were measured in the flue gas as well as temperature (°C) and pressure distributions (mbar) along the bed. Combustion efficiency and thermal capacity of sewage sludge/coal/biomass mixtures were calculated and the optimum conditions for operating parameters (bed temperature (°C), fuel feed rate (kg/h), terminal velocity (m/s)) were determined.Key Words: Sewage Sludge, Biomass, Coal, Combustion, Circulating Fluidized Bed
