Abstract (EN)

The population in our planet is constantly increasing. With the increasing population, the need for water increases in direct proportion. For this reason, we should treat the wastewater, which is composed of domestic, industrial and other kinds, in accordance with the characteristics of the water before giving it to the receiving environment, we must recover it and use it again. In this way, we can protect the nature and leave a future for the next generations. Nowadays, since water is used in many different functions, the characterization of the wastewater is also very different. Therefore, it is becoming more difficult to treat and discharge wastewater according to standards. There are many methods used in the treatment of polluted water in Environmental Engineering. These are physical, chemical and biological methods. Recently, the microwave method has been used to eliminate the pollutant parameters in the wastewater. In many studies, removal efficiency was obtained. In this study, by removing the microwave method from the prefabricated microwave works, the removal of some parameters from the inlet water of Bursa Organized Industrial Zone Wastewater Treatment Plant has been missed. The microwave oven is operated at 900 Watts and the wastewater from the treatment plant is exposed to the microwave in different conditions and durations. In addition, the amount of energy spent in this process was also measured. Experimental findings showed that COD, ammonium nitrate, phosphate and color removal could be removed by microwave alone. A yield of 95% was obtained, especially in ammonium nitrate. In energy consumption, 0.205 Watt energy is required to heat 1 mL of water for 1 minute.
