Abstract (EN)

Today, due to the need for energy, researchers are trying to discover new energy sources on the one hand; on the other hand they are trying to minimize the losses of existing energy systems. Efforts to reduce high voltage source corona losses, which have great importance in terms of the concept of electric energy efficiency and occur in electric power transmission lines, are still being updated. Therefore, in this study aimed at reducing corona losses, some studies have been carried out to experimentally investigate the effect of atmospheric humidity on the ignition and damping voltages of corona discharges. The effects on the electrical losses in the atmospheric energy transmission lines have been experimentally investigated in this study which is thought to provide important contributions especially in the dimensioning of insulators and poles used in high voltage energy transmission and distribution systems. As a result of the study, it was observed that atmospheric humidity have a significant effect on the limit values of the ignition and damping voltages of the corona discharges that occur at the high voltage electrical energy transmission lines. And also, it has been observed that the current values of the discharge are directly proportional to the humidity ratio of the medium but show a non-linear change and also the effect of increasing the humidity ratio is more evident especially at wide electrode distances.
