Abstract (EN)

In recent years, borders among countries have begun to disapper as an outcome of the globalization and integration process. One of the consequence of this tendency is Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) that are reaching significant extend and have already get an important place in the economies of the countries. In this context, the case of one of the biggest country in the world Russia?s situation turns out to become noteworthy.FDI flows that form one of the important extents of the relations between European Union (EU) countries and Russia, has rapidly begun to increase since the beginning of the 1990?s, after Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) collapse. Nowadays Russia is an important strategic and trade partner of EU, which turns out to be the biggest investor in Russia. The main subject of this thesis is FDI flows and stocks from EU countries into Russia that has taken an important part within the structure of the investments. During the investigation of the FDI investments, there has been studied the investment environment of Russia, reasons for FDI, sector and region distributions of FDI and etc.The findings of the analysis have indicated that EU origined FDIs have successful performance and EU has been becoming the biggest investment partner of Russia.Key Words: Foreign Direct Investment, European Union, Russia, ROSSTAT
