Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the hypothesis that the European centrist understanding of science is an artificial understanding of science is supported. When the studies about the history of science are examined chronologically, we witness that the history of science is designed especially within the framework of a European centrist understanding of science. Science has such a wide accumulation that it cannot be the product of a single nation or civilization. Many cultures have joint efforts in the formation of this discipline. Apart from science, which was defined with a positivist approach in the 19th century, It is open to debate how accurate ıt would be take the activities performed in history out of the scope of science. In the first part of our study, the definition of science, the classifacation of science and the thoughts about science that started with the enlightenment process in Europe. In the second part, firstly, the ideas of orientalism and Occidentalism (East and West consepts) are mentioned, and the main arguments based on European centrist science are given. In the last chapter, the subject of what Islamıc history means in terms of the European centrist understanding of science in the history of science has been tried to be re-laid historically and intellectuallyetake the activities performed in history out of the scope of science.
