Abstract (EN)

The world began to undergo a global change with the Industrial Revolution, which began to emerge at the end of the 18th century. Since these years, while the production and development capacity has increased day by day with the rapidly increasing industrialization and industrialization activities, natural resources have started to run out rapidly and many problems have occurred as the output of these developments. Our rapidly declining natural resources and the environment that has been destroyed and polluted have compelled the modern economy of the 21st century to take global measures, to make agreements and contracts. While efforts to raise awareness on the environment have been continuing by preparing international agreements and protocols such as the Stockholm Conference, the Kyoto Protocol, and the Paris Climate Agreement since the 1980s, a big step has been taken in terms of being climate neutral by forming the European Green Consensus in 2019 by the European Union. EU announced that it will be the first carbon neutral continent in 2050. In this study, what is the purpose of the European Green Deal, what are its scopes, the steps that Turkey, which has a high import and export relationship with the EU, will take within the scope of this agreement, the action plans to be implemented, the carbon market in the world and in Turkey will be examined.
