Abstract (EN)
In this study, the usage of polyurethane sole waste (PSW), which emerged during shoe sole production and is produced in the Alkan Sales Factory in Antakya Organized Industrial Site, is researched instead of aggregate in concrete. For this purpose, 3 different sets of concrete were produced. In the first set, CEMI 42,5 cement is used, while PTA is replaced by coarse aggregate at 0, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% by volume. In the second set, blast furnace slag (BFS) replaced with CEM I 42.5 cement 10% by weight while the aggregate is replaced as in the first set by PSW. In the third set, silica fume (SF) is used instead of 5% by weight of CEMI 42.5 cement, while coarse aggregate replacement ratio are 0, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% by volume. The water / binder ratio is 0.4 and the binder dosage is 450 kg / m3in all mixtures. Slump test, unit weight and air content (%) tests are performed on the produced fresh concrete mixes. 18 different mixtures produced totally are subjected to 28 days standard water curing. Compressive strength, flexural strength, splitting tensile strength, Schmidt test, Ultrasonic pulse velocity, energy absorption capacity, abrasion, water absorption, capillarity, pressurized water permeability, elasticity modulus and dynamic elasticity modulus tests were carried out on samples taken from cured samples after 28 days. When all of the test results are evaluated together, it is considered that PSW can be used in 10% by volume in concrete instead of aggregate, both as this waste material can be disposed and contributes to economy as well as part of natural resource usage can be avoided.
