Characterization of inbred lines with morphological and molecular methods in sunflower

Abstract (EN)

This research carried out to determine some morphological, agricultural and molecular differences of inbred line sunflower genotypes obtained from American gene bank and different sources. In the study, 96 sunflower genotypes were used, and in 2015 growing season, Agumented Trial Design was established in randomized blocks in Adana and Ceyhan conditions. The variance analysis results of the two locations of the morphological and agronomic characteristics revealed that there were significant differences between the genotypes. According to the distribution of the inbred lines within the agro-morphological characters, it was determined that the genotypes were found to be close to the normal in terms of all traits and there was variation between the genotypes. In order to determine the molecular differences, 16 ISSR primers were used to determine 14.63 bands per ISSR primers. All of these bands were polymorphic bands. According to the dendograms, ninety six sunflower genotypes were divided into three main groups. There were 59 genotypes in the first group and 3 genotypes in the second group and 34 in the second group. The first group was divided into three subgroups as I-A, I-B and I-C. Research findings have shown that there are very important morphological and agricultural differences between the studied sunflower genotypes. The results of the molecular studies revealed that ISSR markers could be used effectively to determine the genetic relationship between sunflower genotypes and that the new information obtained in this context would provide important scientific contributions to future breeding studies.
