Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to determine the antioxidant capacity of wild asparagus (Asparagus acutifolius L.) naturally grown in the province of Aydın. Various antioxidant activity tests were performed with the aim of evaluating the potential health benefits of wild asparagus. These tests included ABTS, FRAP, CUPRAC, Phosphomolybdate, and Metal Chelation methods. The measurements revealed the antioxidant activity of wild asparagus as follows: 28.93±2.08 mg TE/g (ABTS), 45.57±1.73 mg TE/g (CUPRAC), 32.70±1.19 mg TE/g (FRAP), 1.25±0.05 mmol TE/g (Phosphomolybdate), and 39.55±0.84 mg EDTAE/g (Metal Chelation). These results indicate that the plant's high antioxidant content could provide effective protection against free radicals and could be included in healthy dietary regimes. These evaluations highlight the potential health contributions of the plant.
