Voice of verbs in Azerbaijan Turkish

Comprehending the logic of language in order to learn and use it properly depends on understanding the relation between the fundamental elements in sentences. The main topic of this thesis, the voice of verb in Azerbaijani Turkish serves this purpose. The first purpose of this thesis to investigate the views of researchers, their examples, descriptions and classifications in order to contribute to the studies in this field. The other purpose is to highlight the similarities between Azerbaijani Turkish and Turkey's Turkish which are two dialects of one language on the voice of verb structures. The voice of verb in Turkey's Turkish is investigated in order to achieve these purposes in the first chapter of this thesis. The differences between researches in this topic are highlighted. There are some examples given on the classification of voices of verb that are derived from researches. In the second chapter, the topic of voice of verb in Azerbaijani Turkish in the books written on the dialects, especially in Turkey, is investigated. Afterwards, descriptions and classifications on the voice of verb in Azerbaijani Turkish that are made by researches are examined. Following the examination of the voice of verb in Azerbaijani Turkish, suffixes in both dialects for the voice of verb are investigated on the third chapter. The views and examples from both Turkey and Azerbaijan fields on the usage of suffixes are utilised in this chapter. It is demonstrated at the end of this study that there are no great differences in Azerbaijani Turkish and Turkey's Turkish on the voice of verb. The differences are mostly in the usage of suffixes. The similarities between two dialects are highlighted. It is thought that this study will contribute as a resource in the research of these two dialects.
