Synthesis and chractersiation of perfuloro compounds containing azide groups

This thesis contains the synthesis of various azide molecules containingdifferent Perfluoroalkyl groups. In our study the azide molecules have been obtainedby known procedures like oxidation, elimination and esterifications. 2-Perfluoroalkylethanol compound have been oxidised with jones reactive, producing3HUIOXRURFDUER[\OLF DFLGV $IWHU WKH HOLPLQDWLRQ RI WKH DFLG WKH SURGXFW .unsatured ester has been obtained by the fisher?s esterification, thus the carboxylgroup has been protected. The fluoro nucleofil in the ester, has changed place withthe azitür and the azide molecule has been produced. Perfluoroalkyliodoethancompound has been iodine (I) substitue with the NaN3 and then reducted to amine byWKHFDWDO\WLFK\GURJHQDWLRQøQWKLVZD\JHWWLng different amine groups are possible.The product triazole which is one of the fluorinated molecules containing azidegroups, in this study can be transformed to tetrazole moleculles. There are differenttetrazole or triazole producing methods in the literature.
