Abstract (EN)
By using and opposing the very term of Balkanism – "the dark side within" or "the inside other" of the civilized Europe, the aim here is to show endeavour to develop a new postcolonial perspective in IR among existing critical perspectives. Neverthless its specificity will be like, while other critical perspectives of IR conduct their struggles from the "outside"(of Europe), being fully colonized, "Other" or "the Rest" - through criticizing/questioning IR fundamental assumptions; with the (anti)-Balkanism, we will try to do it from the very inside – geographically being part of Europe but culturally "semi-colonised", "semi-other" and "semi-the Rest", through deeper form of critique that encompasses the discipline – its underlying assumptions, modes of though and analysis, and its consciousness and very attitude. Also critically we will discuss the very concepts upon which Europe is supposed to be built and now in a mainstream way celebrates as universal values like pluralism, multiculturalism, freedom, tolerance, ect. By integrating the region, the Balkans, into the imagological construct of Europe with all its different legacies, for the first time Europe becomes comprehensive and inclusive, for more, its reputation and image in the international area undergoes a qualitative change. Far more important, the European epistemological vision and paradigm will be broadened not only to include hegemonic - cleansed abstract ideal and a version of power, but also one of dependency and subordination. And precisely at these consequences we can make a fruitful and original confluence between the aims of postcolonial theory and anti-balkanism.
