Abstract (EN)

Barrette piles are pile foundation system that are obtained as a result of placing reinforcement in deep wells drilled with diaphragm wall equipment and pouring concrete, used in many application areas and an important alternative to bored piles. In this thesis, the behavior of barrette piles under axial compression force was investigated by laboratory tests and field tests and compared with the behavior of bored piles with the same cross-sectional area and height. The effects of pile geometry and pile length on pile behavior were investigated in tests conducted in sand soil environment. The tests were modeled with the program using finite element method in three dimensions with and the results were compared with each other. In addition, using the graphics obtained from the test results, the bearing capacity values of the piles were determined with the theoretical methods presented in the literature. As a result of the tests studies, it has been determined that barrette piles perform approximately 30% better in terms of bearing capacity compared to bored piles with the same cross-sectional area and they have less displacement than bored piles under the same load. Based on the pile cross-section dimensions used in the tests, the piles were modeled as three-dimensional in lengths and cross-sections used in real applications, and the results were interpreted by conducting parametric studies to examine the effects of parameters such as pile geometry, pile length, pile friction surface area on the behavior of the piles. In the last section, scale effect analyses based on pile sizes were conducted. According to these results, various suggestions have been made regarding barrette piles.
