Evaluation of the Bartın province in the scope of ecotourism

Changes and developments in the world have affected people's expectations and lifestyles. Changes of people's expectations and demands have driven the tourism sector to adapt to dynamic and innovation and to increase product diversity and to create new concepts and to respond to these demands and expectations. One of these concepts is Ecotourism. Eco-tourism which has emerged with the concept "sustainability" is a fact that provides the sustainability of regional ve local features of tourism values by being kept of them, provides employment for the local people by keeping and improving these values after natural, environmental and cultural values are given prominence, and backs up the local development Bartın province, chosen as a study area, has not got enough share from tourism due to lack of infrastructure, superstructure, advertising and promotional activities despite its cultural values and natural beauties and ecotourism potential. In this study, it is aimed to determine the potential of ecotourism of the region in terms of the development of the region and the people of the region by ensuring the continuity and preservation of the natural and cultural values that are the source of tourism. In line with this aim, meetings were held with hotel and restaurant authorities operating in the province and the survey was applied to locals.
