Abstract (EN)

This research aimed to examine the effects of retro movements training on different balance measurement parameters in 12-14 year old basketball athletes. In the study, 80 volunteer athletes were divided into two groups: experimental and control groups. As analysis method; ANOVA was preferred in mixed measures due to repeated measurements of two groups and examination of the difference between the groups. According to the findings, the average age of the experimental group is 13.00 years old, their height is 165.08 cm and their body weight is 61.80 kg. The average age of the control group was 13.05, their height was 167.38 cm and their body weight was 59.88 kg. In the study, pre- and post-test measurements of YDT, SDT and GDT were taken. The post-test values of the participants' balance measurements within the group, YST, SDT and GDT, increased significantly compared to the pre-test values. When analyzed between groups, the values of the experimental group were found to be significantly higher than the values of the control group in the YDT, SDT and GDT results. It was observed that the post-test values in intra-group balance measurements of both genders in our study were significantly higher than the pre-test values. Among the groups according to gender, females were found to be significantly higher than males in the YDT left posterior medial variable. Men showed significantly higher performance than women in the backward balancing 6 cm variable. It was observed that there was no significant difference in other parameters. In conclusion; It has been determined that retro movements training improves balance skills. It is predicted that retro movements programs are suitable for dynamic and static balance exercises.
