Effect of od flows on entry capacity of multi-lane roundabouts in İzmir

In this study, applicability of roundabouts in Turkey, which is one of the most preferred solutions in decreasing accident rates and applied widely around the world, is tried to be investigated especially from capacity and delay point of views. A capacity analysis method is suggested. In common, roundabouts are treated as series of T junctions in roundabout capacity and performance analysis. However, roundabouts should be investigated as a whole because different movement of vehicles in the intersection, have great influence on roundabout capacity. By using the data obtained from roundabouts in zmir, the effect of OD matrix on a two lane roundabout which has two entry lanes on each approach. An Excel worksheet is used for this analysis.
