Abstract (EN)

In the first sense, while Consumption becomes an essential element for meeting our needs, today is a culture based on pleasure and satisfaction. By the 20th century, every commodity that has emerged is produced repeatedly for consumption and aims to complete one's spiritual emptiness. In order to fulfill this purpose, TV programs as a media product are also widely used as a router. While the programs broadcast on television direct the individual to more consumption by using the person's current deprivation, It provides production through pleasure and self by using non-real indicators. While the transformation of the commodities that a person does not have for consumption into some deprivation is ensured, this situation is shown as an output of poverty with the publications. This unreal poverty situation, a non-real artificial solution is offered and a simulation universe is created as a way of salvation with the message given by TV broadcasts. The main problem in this study, which aims at a critical analysis from the perspective of consumer culture and ideology, transforming the deprivation of the individual as a poverty through television broadcasts and to try to solve it by substitution methods. In this respect, while the conceptual explanation of consumer culture is explained in the first part of the study, it continues to be discussed in the context of Marxist, Weberian and postmodern consumption theories. In the perspective of simulation theory, are discussed transformation of reality and simulation in media studies. In the second part of the study, the concepts of deprivation and poverty are analyzed, construction methods in the media are discussed and its effect on pleasure and satisfaction is investigated. In the last part of the study, in the context of simulation theory, the effect of television broadcasts on the transformation deprivation to poverty is discussed and the TV program, which is the subject of the study, is analyzed by semiotic method. Key words: Consumption, Simulation, Poverty, Deprivation, Semiotics.
