Abstract (EN)

n SUMMARY Master Thesis THE INVESTIGATION OF ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF SOME AMINE- METAL COMPLEXES Fahrettin YAKUPHANO?LU Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Physics 1998, Page :57 In this study, the electrical conductivities, resistivities, activation energies, optical +2 and magnetic properties of amin-metal complexes containing transition metal of Cu, Ni, Co, and UOt2 and different ligands with 1,3-dioxocycloalcane and alkylamino groups have been investigated. The electrical conductivity of samples was measured by means of two probe method. The activation energies (Ea) and forbidden energy gaps (Eg) of complexes were calculated by using Arrhenius curves and optical absorption method. The magnetic properties were however measured by Gouy measurement method. The conductivity measurements and forbidden energy gap calculated by optical absorption method were found consistent by both methods. The investigated amin-metal complexes were found to show semiconductor features. The conductivities depend on the atomic number of transition metals and ligands. In the complexes with the same ligands but different metal atomic number, the activation energy was found to decrease with increasing atomic number and the forbidden energy gap increased with increasing number of unpaired electrons. Hot probe and thermoelectric power measurements showed that the investigated complexes had n-type electrical conductivity. Key Words : Semiconductor, Complexes, Amino, Transition metals,
