Abstract (EN)
which are grown intensively in the Eastern Black Sea Region of our country, against some fish pathogenic bacteria were studied in in vitro conditions. Freshly collected tea seeds were divided into 3 different parts as outer shell, inner shell and seed, then these parts were dried and brewed at 60ºC for 48 hours at a rate of 5%. The obtained extracts were sterilized with 0.22μm filters. The antimicrobial effects of the samples obtained were investigated on Photobacterium damselae, Yersinia ruckeri, Lactococcus garvieae, Aeromonas hydrophila, Vibrio vulnificus and Pseudomonas fluorescens bacteria using solid medium and tube dilution methods. At the same time, these extracts were compared with florfenicol, which is widely used in the treatment of fish diseases. The findings showed that the inner shell part of the tea seed had antibacterial activity against V. vulnifucus, A. hydrophila and L. garvieae bacteria, while no part of the seed was effective against Y. ruckeri, P. damselae and P. fluorescens bacteria. It was determined that the effectiveness of the inner shell part was parallel to that of florfenicol. As a result of this thesis study, it has been determined that the inner shell of the tea plant seed may have an antibacterial effect, especially on Vibrio species, and therefore has the potential to treat fish diseases.
