Abstract (EN)

The importance of combating stored product pests is increasing day by day, Sitophilus granarius and Tribolium confusum are known as two important species that cause damage to stored products. Although different methods are used to combat stored products, the most commonoly used method is chemical control. Factors such as environmental negativities and resistance gained by insects necessitate the acquisition and application of new chemicals that can be an alternative to exisiting insecticides. In this thesis study, plant-based insecticidies, which can be an alternative to exisiting insecticidies are discussed. Fort his purpose, the insecticidial and behavioral effects of extacts obtained from Buplerum rotundifolium, Arnebia densiflora, Rhododendron luteum plants on S.granarius and T.confusum were insevtigated. In the contact activity tests, the highest activity with 56.67% was obtained on S. granarius from B. rotundifolium-methanol extract. This effect was followed by A. densiflora-methanol extract with 41.09%. Low contact toxicity was observed on T. confusum. In repellent effect studies, other plant extracts other than A. densiflora-methanol extract showed good repellent activity. Repellent activities on S. granarius were observed at very low levels.
