Abstract (EN)
Within the scope of the study, it was tried to determine the content analyses of the essential oils obtained from different plant parts of Allium polyanthum and Mentha longifolia plants collected from Zara District of Sivas Province, Lavandula angustifolia cvs Hemus, Raya and Yubileina essential oils obtained from Trakya Agricultural Research Institute and commercial Mentha piperita essential oil and the possibilities of using these essential oils against Meloidogyne incognita. For this purpose, the plants collected in 2023 were dried, their essential oils were obtained, their chemical components were determined by GC-MS, and the nematicidal effects of essential oils were determined under laboratory conditions. The main components of Mentha longifolia flower, flower+stem and M. piperita essential oils were menthol (38.3%, 38.8%, 37.9%) and L-menthone (22.5% and 21.1%, 25.7%). Mentha piperita essential oil had a much higher number of components than M. longifolia essential oil. In Lavandula angustifolia cvs Hemus, Raya and Yubileina, linalyl acetate (49.6%, 44.96%, 35.5%) and β-Linalool (30.3%, 25.8%, 23.9%) were determined as the main constituents, and there was a significant variation between the number of constituents and coverage ratios depending on the variety. None of the essential oils had a negative effect on the hatching of M. incognita second stage larvae. While all Mentha spp. essential oils evaluated had nematicidal effect on second stage larvae of M. incognita at varying rates, only Yubileina variety among L. angustifolia varieties had low level of effect compared to Mentha spp. essential oils. Although the LC90 values of the essential oils of Mentha longifolia flower+stem, flower, M. piperita commercial and Lavandula angustifolia cvs Yubileina flower+stem were 4.791, 2.808, 5.307 µl ml-1 and 2.527, 1.368, 2.629 µl ml-1 at 24 and 96 hours, respectively, it was concluded that these essential oils were not suitable for the control of M. incognita.
