Some fungicids (korsi̇kol, derosal), insecticides (basudin)) cytological effects in barley

In this study the cytological effects of three pesticides on barley have been studied. The pesticides used are Basudin 20 EM, Korsikol and Derosal 50 WP. İt is found that, this pesticides effect the chromosome behaviors and celi divisions. But scale of this effects depends on treatment durations (6,12,24 hours) and dose used (100,200,300 ppm). For instance, Derosal 50 WP 100 ppm dose caused considerable reduction on cell division percentage other doses however have no effect in either way. On the other hand Basudin 20 EM treatments to the contrary of Derosal 50 WP and Korsikol with 6 hours treatment duration causes an increase in the mitotic index for ali three dosage. This pesticides also effects the structure and behaviors of chromosome. The chromosome abberations observed af ter the treatment of the seeds by these pesticides mainly are fragment bridges, chromosome stickiness ete. The difference in treatment doses and the durations caused differing results on chromosome structure and behaviors. Compared to other pesticides, Korsikol treatment induced more structural and behavioral disorders; for examp1e chromosome stickiness takes maximum values for Derosal 50 WP 300 ppm with 24 hours treatment duration. For the case of Basudin 20 EM these abnormalities are reached 200 ppm with 12 hours of treatment duration. On the other hand, in the case of Korsikol although stickiness found to depend on treatment durations. But no meaningfull relationship has been established between dosage and treatment durations. Other anomalies resulted in chromosomes (bridges, fragment etc.) found to be related with dosage and treatment durations. Chlorophyll mutation tests on second generation (M2) plants whichhave been grown out of the seeds treated by these pesticides di d not indicate any point mutations.
