Abstract (EN)

In this study, five endemic species (Iris aucheri, Iris persica, Iris peshmeniana, Iris reticulata var. reticulata and Iris sari) belonging to the genus Iris, which is one of the important genera of the Iridaceae family, were investigated cytotaxonomically. Root tips obtained by germinating bulbs of plants collected from different populations were used for cytotaxonomic studies. At the end of the studies carried out in dividing somatic cells, chromosome counts and karyotype analyzes of these species were made and their ideograms were drawn. Chromosome numbers are Iris persica 2n=18, Iris sari 2n= 20, Iris aucheri and Iris peshmeniana 2n=24, Iris reticulata var. reticulata 2n= 36, were determined to be in the form. Keywords: Iris, Iridaceae, Chromosome numbers, Cytotaxonomy, Karyotype.
