Determination of yield and quality properities of some dry bean lines and cultivars in different locations

In this study, five promising common bean lines (BLCK-7, ÇNK-2, ÇNK-4, EL-37, and YLV-28) selected within the scope of previous TÜBİTAK projects (Project No: 109O163 and 115R042) and two bean varieties ( Akman-98, Göynük-98) were put into trial in Bolu (2019) and Ankara (2020) locations to determine the efficiency and quality characteristics. As a result of the trial established in the 2019 growing season under Bolu conditions, the emergence period of the plants is 11,75-19,00 days, the flowering period is 32,00-47,50 days, the maturation period is 78,00-90,50 days, the plant height is 52,50-57, 75 cm, the first pod height is 12,90-21,95 cm, the number of branches in the plant is 5,05-7,25, the pod number is 8,30-15,20 in the plant, 3,45-4,55 in the pod and grain yield 156,60-238,54 kg/da, dry weight 24,82-52,04 g, wet weight 50,80-91,70 g, water uptake capacity 0,315-0,484 g / grain, water uptake index% 0,778-1,270, dry volume 19,50-44,25 ml, wet volume 45,25-85,00 ml, swelling capacity 0,307-0,513 ml/grain, swelling index 1,905-2,367%, protein ratio 17,13-19,88% and the cooking time was determined in the range of 29,00-42,25 min. As a result of the trial established in the growing period of 2020 in Ankara conditions, the emergence period of the plants is 14,75-18,25 days, the flowering period is 56,00-71,50 days, the maturation period is 105,75-117,50 days, the plant height is 31,98-54, 60 cm, first pod height 11,48-17,08 cm, branches per plant 4,40-6,00, pods per plant 8,80-19,20, seed per pod 2,00-2,99 and grain yield 78,16-125,28 kg/da, dry weight 25,02-34,41 g, wet weight 49,50-73,20 g, water uptake capacity 0,290-0,388 g/grain, water uptake index %1,062-1,290, dry volume 20,38-28,63 ml, wet volume 46,75-66,75 ml, swelling capacity 0,288-0,381 ml/grain, swelling index %2,166-2,507, protein ratio %18,62-23,06 and cooking time was determined in the range of 43,75-51,75 minutes. As a result of regional yield trials, bean lines were found superior to standard varieties in yield, earliness, and machine harvesting suitability. As a result, it is envisaged to apply to the Directorate of Seed Registration and Certification Center to register some common bean lines that have been tested. In the future, it is thought that the registration of the lines can join seed production network and increase bean production in our country.
