Abstract (EN)

In this study; (E)-2- (((2-Hydroxyphenyl) imino) methyl)-6-methoxyphenol (TS-mol1 molecule), (E) -2 (((3-Hydroxyphenyl) imino) methyl containing three different and novel Schiff base electronic structure, solvatochromic behaviors and electric dipole moment of three new Schiff base molecules, named as (E) -2 (((3-hydroxyphenyl)imino) methyl) -6-methoxyphenol (TS-mol2 molecule), (E)-4-((2,5-dimethoxybenzylidene)amino)phenol (TS-mol3 molecule) were determined. The absorption (UV) and fluorescence spectra of the Schiff base containing compounds were measured in twenty-eight different solvents with different polarity and at room temperature.Polar protic, polar aprotic and non-polar solvents in the UV spectrum generally observed in the three bands were observed from conjugation in the benzene ring, due to conjugation between the phenyl ring and the Schiff base group and the electronic transitions in the Schiff base group. In the fluorescence spectrum of the examined molecules, four bands were observed and the electron delocalization of the bands in the benzene rings, the conjugation in the phenyl rings and Schiff base group and the electronic transitions in the Schiff base group were observed.Solvent-solute interactions of molecules were analyzed using the linear solution energy relationship (LSER) models, Kamlet-Taftsolvatochromism and Catalan solvatochromism. The theoretical values obtained by the Kamlet-Taft and Catalan solvatochromism and the quantitative data obtained in the solvent-soluble interaction, such as solvent polarity, solvent dipolarity, solvent acidity and solvent basicity using the values obtained with the solvatochromism of Kamlet Taft and Catalan model as compared. Ground and excited stateelectrical dipole moments were calculated by Lippert-Mataga, Bakhsiev and Bilot-Kawski and Reichardt methods.
