Abstract (EN)

This study has been conducted to determine the effect of chemical substances on physiological and anatomical characteristics, which are using against illness and harmful pests at the Citrus varieties of Valencia and Washington in Adana and its surroundings, including effective substances such as Dicofol 2.2.2-trichloro,1 -bis C4, Chlorophenyl ethanol, Propargite 2-(tert butylphenxy) and Cylohexyl prop-2- ynyl Sulphide. To determine the effects of these chemical substances, leaves samples was collected between November and February from the varieties of Valencia and Washington which are growing in Subtropics Fruits Research Center. The parameters such as stomata density, total chlorophyll, carotenoids, piroline, mineral substances (Ca, Mg, Cu, Mn and Fe), SH-components, lipid peroxidation, totale, reduced/oxygenated ascorbic acid and sod analysis were done. According to the statistical analysis, the effect of pesticides found that stomata densities, total chlorophyll and ascorbic acid decreased in both varieties of Citrus. But total amount of piroline, SH-components lipid peroxidation, SOD were increased when compared with the control. According to the result of analysis; the variety of washington determined as the most tolerant variety to pesticides Key words: Citrus, pesticide, lipid peroxidation, Chlorophyll, mineral elements
