Abstract (EN)

One of the most important stressors affecting plant growth is drought stress. Water is an important factor in the productivity and development of medical and aromatic plants as in other plants. However, unlike the traditionally cultivated plants, the plant and water relationships in many medical and aromatic plants including Salvia officinalis L. are not fully understood. The medical use of sage has been officially accepted in Europe. The plant has been named as Common Sage in our country is the Salvia officinalis L. plant. This species does not naturally occur in Turkey. Common sage is a medicinal plant that has been used since early ages in food, pharmacy, perfumery, and cosmetics. In this study, the resistance of drought stress of 4 lines of Salvia officinalis L., cultivated in pots from cuttings, were investigated. Cuttings were taken from the plants obtained from the Faculty of Agriculture at Ankara University and irrigation was made in the rate of 25%, 50% and 100% after the rooting of the cuttings. As the irrigation stress increased in the harvested plants, statistically negative effects were observed in the growth characteristics of the plant. The best volatile oil yield was taken in 50% irrigation regime and significant change was not observed. in the amount of essential oil.
