Abstract (EN)
The Wire Filaments forming polypropylene-based BCF yarns which are frequently used in carpet production are spinneret by their flowing at certain pressure and temperature from the sections on the nozzle pattern. The features on demand of filament yarns such as tensile strength and gloss must be at their optimum level. For this, surface roughness of the intersectional area where the liquid polypropylene flows and the measurement deviations of the intersectional design must be at the lowest level. These sections affecting the quality of yarn are formed by wire erosion method. The aim of the study is to contribute to the scientific application on determining the optimum cutting conditions of wire erosion and on adjustment of the levels of the variables for better results. The effect levels of parameters such as current, voltage, wire feed rate and pulse on time on the surface roughness and measurement completeness and the determination of optimum conditions were investigated by experimental design and variance (Anova) analysis and the results were interpreted. It was observed that the surface roughness was influenced by the current at the level of 57% and by the pulse open time at 32% levels, the effect level of the voltage wire feed rate were low. In the dimensional deviation analysis, only the current value that has 53% influence was found to be significant. The results that were not significant and altitude of experimental errors were interpreted due to unstability of the operating conditions.
