A reasearch about academical success of first year students in physical education and sports academy

V ABSTRACT In this Ph. D thesis, first year students of Phi- sical Education and Sports Academy are studied in respect to their succes levels for the topics below: -graduation degree of previous shool, -OSS points, -Ability points of entrance, -Academical success points for the first and second se mesters. In addition; for personal inquiry forms has been prepared and applied to 232 Students who were the sample group of the investigation. The results being obtained from this scanning ty pe study; are tabulated in respect to frequency, percentage, aritmetic average and standart deviation. Meaningfullness tests have been analysed by chi-square test, T-Teste, F-Test methots and the source of difference has been analysed by Range-Test { Newman -Keul s ). The following results have been obtained from this study: -The students having a point higher then 80, are more suc- cesful in the theorical and practical lessons of first year... /..VI -The students whom their mothers have high- school graduo- atin degree, and the students whose famlies have incame ange up rto 50 000 000 TL, are more succesful in theorical and racti- cal plessons. -Male students are more succesful than female students in respect to the ability points of entrance. -The students having a higher OSS point, are succesful in ability examination too. -In the ability points of entrance and in the first year practical lessons, the First -Education students are more suc cessful than the Second- Education students. -It has been found that there is a meaningfull relation between : a) The graduation degree and OSS points, b)The graduation degree and first year theorical lessons, c)OSS points and the ability points of etrance, d) Ability points of entrance and first year practical lessons, e)The avarage of theorical and practical lessons in first year..../...
