Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to perform fatigue analysis of spur gears depending on bending strength by using finite element method under static conditions. The change of stresses at the bottom of the tooth is an important parameter affecting the life of the gear. Several studies have been carried out for different gear types in relation to the bending of the gears in recent years. These studies are carried out with the analytical, experimental and finite element methods by using different parameters of the gears. Advanced computer technologies have provided significant convenience to designers and manufacturers in the analysis of machine elements such as gears which can affect many parameters. Assumptions and uncertainties in analytical methods, cost and time loss of experimental methods increase the importance of computer aided analysis. Computer aided finite element analysis with new developments gives very close results to the experimental studies. In this study, firstly, tooth root bending stress have been analysed under the parameters such as various load, rim thickness, teeth numbers, pressure angle, and module then compared with the ISO 6336-3:2006 (E) standards analytical calculations for same gear models. The effect of the parameters on number of cycle was investigated and fatigue strength of gears were analysed. Key Words: Spur Gears, Bending Stress, FEM, Gear Bending Fatigue Strength.
