Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY The Experimental Investigation of Ultrasonic Atomizer Effect on Engine Performance and Exhaust Emissions in A Gasoline Engine This study was made for to determine that the effect of ultrasonic atomizer, which is an alternative to prepare of air/fuel mixture, on engine performance and exhaust emission at spark ignition engine. The fuel was atomized with high frequency sound wave instead of high pressure, and the atomization performance was comparison with literature of gasoline direct injection (GDI) system that is latest technology in this area. At the same way the engine of USFS was compared with the engine of OFS in terms of engine performance and exhaust emission. In the first chapter of the study, the subject was introduced and novel literature samples with relation to the subject were given. In the second chapter, the experimental method was described while the third chapter tells us the experimental findings. In the fourth chapter, the gathered experimental results were discussed deeply and associated with literature. In the fifth and final chapter, the study was completed with giving the recommendations. As a result, the engine of USFS was found to give similar result with the engine of GDI. While the droplet diameter is 15 microns at the GDI injector, at the USFS is 12 microns. According to there was no change at the effective power. At the engine torque was a little decrease. The specific fuel consumption has decreased % 30 at the USFS. At the all exhaust emission have seen significant improvement
