Abstract (EN)

Thiazole ring and its derivatives are one of the most frequently used chemical structures in the treatment of various diseases as one of the most important structures in heterocyclic chemistry, which are found in the pharmacologically active regions of synthetic and natural product sources in the form of various derivatives. In this thesis, the synthesis of four different benzothiazole derivative imine compounds (Ak-bb, Ak-bc, Ak-cb, Ak-cc) was carried out with two different primary amines (2-Amino-6-fluorobenzothiazole, 2-Amino-6-chlorobenzothiazole) as starting materials and two different aromatic aldehydes (5-bromo-2-hydroxy-benzaldehyde, 5-chloro-2-hydroxy-benzaldehyde) condensation reaction. Secondary amines (Ak-bbi, Ak-bci, Ak-cbi, Ak-cci) were obtained as a result of the reduction of benzothiazole derivative compounds carrying this imine group with NaBH4. The structures of synthesized benzothiazole derivative imine and amine compounds were characterized using elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectroscopy methods. In addition, the cytotoxicity activity studies of these compounds were evaluated by measuring with the MTT method against DU-145 prostate cancer cell line and A549 lung cancer cell line. As a result of cytotoxic activity studies against A549 lung cancer and normal cell lines, it was determined that AK-bbi compound had effective cytotoxicity activity against A549 lung cancer cell line, while other compounds showed moderate antiproliferative and cytotoxic activities.
