Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the suitability of the genetic structure of different broodstock populations for implementation of selection programs was investigated by using microsatellite genotyping. In the research which is made using a total of 1314 fish, 2 popolulations which are collected from seas of Çanakkale and Adana regions along with 3 different broodstock populations which have been through certain production processes were compared in respect to their own genetic structures as well as the relations between them. For the genetic analyses, 10 microsatellite loci were amplified using multiplex PCR technique. Fragment length analysis was conducted by a genetic analyzer after the capillary electrophoresis of the amplicons produced by PCR. According to the results obtained, only the groups that were collected from the wild were found to be in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Likewise, the wild groups were found to show the most significant structural similarity among all groups. Locus based allele frequencies, heterozygosity and degrees of inbreeding were calculated and reported. The results of structure analysis and factorial correspondence analysis were used in order to describe the relatedness of the groups. Among all the groups evaluated, D1 and Ü1 groups are found to be the most suitable ones for implementation of selective breeding programs.
