Abstract (EN)
In the study, the effects of different ratios of dietary nutrients such as honey, beeswax, glycerol and bran on the rate of development and protein synthesis of the larvae of Galleria mellonella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) were investigated by using synthetic diet. Totally eight diets were used and these diets were produced by increasing and decreasing with a ratio of 50%, honey, beeswax, glycerol and bran in control diet. The rate of development and protein synthesis increased after decreasing the rate of beeswax by 50% and increased the rate of bran by 50 per cent. Decreasing and increasing the rates of honey and glycerol by 50%, however, did not effect on the larvae both the development date and protein synthesis. Among the diets component beeswax and bran were found to have quantitatively critical importance for G. mellonella honey and glycerol did not have qualitative or quantitative critical importance for the larvae. Key Words: Galleria mellonella, protein synthesis
