Abstract (EN)
The present study was planned to investigate the methods and effects of these methods previously applied by obese patient admitted to the nutrition and diet clinic of Gaziantep Şehitkamil State Hospital. Research were performed in total 382 individuals, 345 women and 37 men, and with over body mass index of 30 kg / m2. Chi-square test was used in the analysis of data collected through a prepared questionnaire, p <0.05 was considered significant. Before applying to the clinic, 71.2% of individuals worked to weaken. 74.3% of these weakened, 96.0% of those who lose weight gained weight again. The rate of using any of the popular diet has been identified as 17.8%. Three popular diet most commonly used; starvation diet (61.8%), cabbage diet (30.9%) and the Dukan diet (8.8%). The proportion of individuals using any weight loss method was 70.8%. The methods used most frequently to lose weight are eat less food (79.0%), carbohydrate foods cut (61.4%), skipping meals (54.8%), exercise (52.9%) and slimming teas (45.9%). The rate of weight loss interventions is lower in the people monthly income is lower (p<0.05). The people with overweight (obese) body perception are attempted to lose weight at a higher rate than people with weak / normal, light-weight body perception (p<0.05). Women use any of the popular diet in a higher rate than men (p<0.05). Health problems experienced as a result of the method applied; hunger, weakness, dizziness, receiving more than lost, gastrointestinal disorders, impaired blood biochemistry, heart palpitations, psychological disorders, cessation of menstruation and increased acne. 22.2% of individuals applied to the clinic to lose weight in a healthy control experts. Obesity is regarded as a problem and most of the weight loss methods are attempted to get rid of weight are unhealthy methods. Healthy weight loss should be by gaining healthy eating habits, bringing these habits into lifestyle and supporting with exercise in control of the experts.
