Abstract (EN)
Concrete-filled steel columns are becoming increasingly popular in today's construction, particularly in the construction of high-rise buildings and large-span structures. Concrete-filled steel columns are made by combining concrete and steel, as concrete is more fire resistant than steel. This application provides a higher level of fire protection than concrete or steel-only columns. Furthermore, when compared to typical concrete or steel columns, they provide a substantial benefit to the structure due to their effect on attributes such as high strength, ductility, energy absorption capacity, superior structural fire resistance, and heat insulation. Due to their qualities, concrete-filled steel columns were widely utilized in new buildings, as well as in buildings and bridges, beginning in the 1980s. In this study, the cross-section shape (square, circular, and rectangular), cross-section dimensions, steel thickness, and passive fire protection thickness are all potential parameters that might affect the performance of concrete-filled steel columns under fire. The impact of these characteristics on the performance of a steel column filled with concrete in various fire effects (Standard, Fast, Slow, Smouldering) has been determined. Using Eurocode design equations and the ANSYS application, a mathematical model was created throughout the analysis. The mechanical properties of the steel column filled with concrete were investigated in different parameters as a consequence of these analyses.
