Abstract (EN)

In our thesis study during named the ?Period of the Beyliks?, we have tried to examine the period of pervaneoğulları and Canderoğulları beyliks that have been founded in Sinop from political, economical, social and cultural aspects.Mongol invasion which has occurred in Anatolia after 1243, has provided the emergence of a new period which has been called the Period of Second Beyliks in Anatolia. Sinop which has been added to seljuk lands in 1241 after a certain time has been administered under the control of Trabzon Greek state. However , the existence of Greeks in Sinop has been for a very short time. When Sinop was recaptured again by Muinuddin Pervane, the city was testifying the beginning of new period .The city which has been under the control of pervanoğulları beyliks until 1322, then has became a city under the reign of candaroğulları beyliks which was pursuing its exitence in Kastamonu after this time. The period of candaroğulları beyliks came to an end when the conqueror sultan Mehmet, competent sovereign of the Ottoman empire , took Sinop in 1461.With natural harbors, a strategic location and a firm geography ,Sinop has always been a attraction center. Besides being a trade center, this situation also provided to Sinop to gain importance as a military base. Sinop which has stayed under the reign of different nations, has became the center of conflict of powerful states such as seljuks, Trabzon Greek Empire, Venitian and Genoese.Key words: Sinop, Blacksea, Pervaneoğulları, Candaroğulları, Trade
