Abstract (EN)
Bemisia tabaci (whitefly) is one of the pests that limit production and cause serious product losses in pepper cultivation. In terms of resistance to whitefly, sources of resistance in pepper (Capsicum annuum), inheritance of resistance and determination of the gene or genes controlling the character are very important for the development of pepper varieties resistant to this pest. Resistance sources and inheritance of genes controlling resistance were determined in F1, F2, GM1P1 and GM1P2 populations of C. annuum L. (CM331) x C. chinense (PI 159236) hybrid. Correlations were determined between adult number and trichome density (r = 0,905), leaf area (r= 0,652), leaf color Hue value (r= -0,066), C value (r= -0,051), L value (r= 0,172), cuticle thickness (r=-0,701 ) and peroxidase enzyme activity (r=-0,870 ) in whitefly resistance mechanism. It was found that genetic variance is 15,67, additive variance is 5,09, dominant variance is 10,58, environmental variance is 6,69, heritability in broad sense (h2b) is 0,70, and heritability in narrow sense (h2n) is 0,23 in whitefly resistance inheritance. Additive and dominant gene effects were calculated as 32,5% and 67,5%. In addition, in 2 analysis, it was determined that the 9:3:4 genetic ratio was the most appropriate model (2 = 2,902, P ≥0.10, N=280). This indicates recessive epistatism. The total number of genes controlling whitefly resistance was determined as 1,29 genes. Key words: pepper, Bemisia tabaci, resistance, inheritance
