Using and Planning of the Coastal Area between Biga and Gonen StreamsAvni OKUMUŞABSTRACTTürkiye has got a rich potential with its very nearly 8333 km shoreline. Owingto population increase, immigration, the unconscious usage of the lands, rentexpectations and many other reasons seasides have been used out of their real usageaims. All these reasons causes some enviromental problems such as the pollution onthe shores, the disappearance of the natural scenes and naturally the ecologicalbalance suffers.The evident effect of climate alteration is the existance of warming tendency allover the world. The warming tendency all around the world has continuously beenincreasing. Connected with this; the sea level rise is in question as a result of themelting of ice masses. The evaluations between 1, 2,5 and 5 metres are made for thesea level rise. From these different evaluations, the opinion says that the sea levelrise will almost be 1 metre has had a priority.From this point; supposing that the possible sea level rise in the area researchedwill arise 1, 2,5 and on the occasion of sea rough 5 meters; the problems such as theremaining of agricultural areas, meadows and wetlands under water especially at lowcoast, destructions on highways, the risk of being salty of farming lands, theremaining of the 2nd houses under water, dune movements, the risk of being salty ofunderground water, becoming salty of the river where it pours into the sea and coastregression are possible to arise.In this project, the problems possible to arise at sea level rise are stated withnumerical datums by mapping as a result of land research. Then, the solutions to theproblems are presented by putting forward some new suggestions about the use andplanning of coast.
