Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this master thesis is to explore the relationship between employee engagement and organizational commitment through the knowledge workers of higher education sector who provides acceleration to knowledge economy. Although universities work as a knowledge engine for economy, changing characteristics of business environment and organizational structure caused rising interest in concepts such as employee engagement and organizational commitment, the relationship between the two have not found a common research area yet. In order to determine the relationship between employee engagement and commitment, existing scales were applied on academicians of a foundation university in Istanbul. In consequence of the study, a positive correlation was raised between employee engagement and organizational commitment. With the assistance of evidence provided by the research, findings were discussed and suggestions were presented for both managers and academicians.
