Effects of developments in the field of information technology on efficiency and quality of product / service: An application at the airline company

The main purpose of this study is to reveal the importance of developments in information technologies for all enterprises producing products or services. While highlighting the importance of developments in information technologies, productivity and quality concepts and the effects of developments in information technologies on these concepts were taken into consideration. In the study, firstly, the literature information on information technologies, productivity, quality and the interaction of these concepts with information technologies were shared. In the next section, information about the field of application is given and the processes of this field are explained. The application area has been selected as pilot resource management in the airline company. In the last section, the application study carried out for the hypothesis revealed is given. In-depth interview method was used in the study. Questions related to hypothesis were prepared and these questions were asked to the personnel who have experienced in this field and within the scope of these questions. Hypothesis accuracy was tried to be determined through the answers to the questions. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows. All the personnel interviewed stated that all developments in their information technology departments have contributed positively to efficiency and quality. Based on the studies, it can be stated very clearly; The developments in the field of information technology will make positive contributions to all businesses producing products or services. The importance of this study can be summarized in this framework. Businesses must profit in order to survive and must always be ahead of the competition with their competitors. In order to achieve this, they have to maintain and improve their performance day by day. As the study reveals, one of the most important elements to improve and improve performance is to have evolving information technologies and to benefit from it as necessary and earlier than competitors. In this way, enterprises will maintain their assets successfully, resources will be used more efficiently, new investments will be realized with the income to be generated, the economy of the country will grow and therefore the welfare level of the country will rise.
