Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to determine whether the word map method is effective to develope the vocabulary of 5th class elementary school students. In this research, the pre-test, post-test experiment method is applied. Whether instructive and narrative text types use of word map method is effective to develop the vocabulary of 5th class elementary school students with student?s consumer profile, level of their parents education and level of socio-economic.The sampling of the research comprises 66 grade five students consisting of 38 girls, 28 boys, selected randomly from two primary schools within the boundary of Bayburt province.Data are collected with two scale has been rectified by the researcher. These tests contains 30 multiple choice questions. Results of tests? are analised by SPSS statistics computer program. An independent t- test, a dependent t- test and one way variance anlysis are used in analyizing correct and incorrect answers of the students, based on text types, in order to find out whether there is a significant difference between percentage, frequency and arithmetical avarage; effective of word map method in instructive and narrative texts and relationship with student?s based on existing factors.According to the findings of the research:1.There are meaningful differences between word map method use in instructive text and traditional teaching ways (TTW) on several points.2.When word map method use in instructive text isn?t meaningful differences at the average limits of word teaching, student?s consumer profile, level of their parents education and level of socio-economic.3.There aren?t meaningful differences between word map method use in narrative text and traditional teaching ways (TTW) on several points.4.When word map method use in narrative text isn?t meaningful differences at the average limits of word teaching, student?s consumer profile, level of their parents education and level of socio-economic.5.Between word map method use in instructive text and word map method use in narrative text isn?t meaningful differencess at the average limits of word teaching.
