Abstract (EN)

The Monte Carlo simulation framework for the development of a computed tomography system and the Catphan phantom (CTP404 model) were provided by GATE (Geant4 Application for Tomographic Emission). The project involved running two simulation processes: one used high-energy radiation, and the other used low-energy radiation. The generated output images underwent detailed analysis, representing the difference between the two simulation results. This included image enhancement via filtering techniques, the energy dose, and the calculation of Hounsfield Units (HU) for the materials within the phantom. In order to verify the accuracy of the simulation outcomes, the experimental setup was replicated, actual CT scans were obtained using PET/CT Siemens Biograph Horizon, and the resulting DICOM images were analyzed. A comparative analysis was conducted to assess the accuracy of Monte Carlo simulations in duplicating real CT imaging conditions. The results confirmed the similarity between the simulated and real images. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of Monte Carlo methods for CT imaging simulations, providing an accurate instrument for advancing medical imaging research and development.
