Abstract (EN)

Despite the existence of relevant laws and regulations for elevator applications in building construction, serious accidents with fatal consequences still occur. Therefore, it is crucial to more clearly define the path and limits of risk assessment factors in elevator applications within building construction. In this study, the roadmap and risk assessment factors for elevator applications in building construction were examined in terms of expert opinions from professionals in the elevator industry and the Asansör Takip Sistemi (Elevator Monitoring System) data (ASTAK) across Turkey. In this context, a survey targeting experts was conducted, considering the risk assessment factors and the followed path in elevator applications. ASTAK data and survey results were analyzed together. From the findings, the risk matrix of factors was calculated by considering the most problematic risk assessment factors related to the subject. The results were interpreted based on the calculated risk situations of the most problematic identified risk assessment factors and recommendations were made to academic, public and private sector professionals involved in the subject.
